The Zedrils come from Winnipeg, Manitoba: not exactly a spot known for it's wild motorsport history. Previously, the most famous aspect of Winnipeg (and Manitoba) motorsport was the Gimli 'International' Racetrack. Gimli, a former WWII training base and an Icelandic town about 60 miles north of Winnipeg, was the sudden home of an 'out of gas' DC-9(?) in the midst of a race meet hosted by the Winnipeg Sports Car Club. The photo made the international wire as a Formula Vee raced down the track in front of the huge airliner. The Zedrils have made an equally large impression on the rally world. Even more success in 2010!
